A place where nobody dared to go. A love that they came to know. They call it Xanadu…

Welcome to Xanadu Astoria! A queer-owned bar & grill, and gathering space on the Pacific Northwest Coast, created for LGBTQ+ folks, allies, and chosen family to connect, celebrate, and feel at home.
What started as a bold dream has grown into a true community hub in downtown Astoria. At Xanadu, you’ll find drag shows, karaoke, live music, themed dance nights, RuPaul’s Drag Race watch parties, game nights, and plenty of space to relax, laugh, and be fully yourself. Whether you’re a local regular or visiting the coast, you’re welcome here exactly as you are.
Located at the corner of 11th Street and Marine Drive inside the historic Columbian Theater building, Xanadu Astoria features a full-service bar alongside our scratch-made culinary kitchen, Sonny’s Astoria. From crave-worthy pizza and Southern-inspired comfort food to rotating specials, we believe great food belongs in great community spaces.
The Oregon Coast is known as a 2SLGBTQIA+-friendly destination, and Xanadu Astoria proudly serves as both a gathering place for locals and a starting point for queer visitors exploring the region. We also uplift queer-owned and queer-friendly organizations through our QueerAstoria.com initiative, helping connect community, creativity, and commerce across the coast.
Come for the shows. Stay for the people. Leave knowing you belong.

One of our inspirations! How gay is that?! Now, come on down and be fabulous!
A Queer Safe Space
A "queer safe space" is a designated environment where individuals who identify as LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and others) can feel secure, accepted, and free from judgment or harm based on their sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression. These spaces are intended to foster a sense of community, support, and inclusivity, enabling queer individuals to express themselves authentically without fear of discrimination, harassment, or violence.
Key elements of a queer safe space include:
Respect and Acceptance: All individuals are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their identities.
Confidentiality: Personal information and discussions are kept private to protect guests.
Inclusivity: Efforts are made to include a diverse range of identities within the LGBTQ+ spectrum.
Education and Awareness: Information about queer identities and issues is provided to promote understanding and empathy.
Support and Resources: Access to support, whether emotional, social, or informational, is available to help individuals navigate challenges.
Zero Tolerance for Discrimination: Clear policies are in place to prevent and address any form of discrimination or harassment.
